Dominic Thiem said he was “very happy” after beating Roberto Bautista Agut in Bastad because he was enjoying a strong run at an ATP event. Thiem beat Bautista Agut 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-4 in the Bastad semifinals.

Thiem came back from a set down to force a tiebreak, which he won in straight sets. Thiem was broken twice by Bautista Agut in order to have him play a third set.

After losing the second set, Thiem triumphed in three sets. Rafael Nadal expects to be fit and ready to compete in the US Open in early next month.
