Alexander Zverev doesn’t give up: the message of hope ahead of the US Open

Alexander Zverev has had a difficult season. In his career, the German tennis player surpassed Daniil Medvedev for the number two ranking spot. That’s the only good news in 2022, it appears.

The German number one had a rough start to the year, losing to Denis Shapovalov in the round of 16 at the Australian Open. He traveled to Paris in the hope of securing the final piece of his career’s jigsaw: the Grand Slam.

Roland Garros semi-finalist Zverev met Rafael Nadal in the final, and Zverev prevailed 6-4, 6-4. The German, on the other hand, was forced to retire after injuring his ankle in the encounter against Spain.

As a result, the German had to undergo surgery and miss a significant number of tournaments, including Wimbledon.

In Zverev’s mind, there is a chance

Concerns over his participation in North American cement tournaments develop as the grass season ends: from the Canadian and U.S. Masters 1000s to the final major event, the US Open.

Sportskeeda has obtained an exclusive interview with Zverev in which he discusses his expectations for the American leg with RTL/ntv. In addition to the US Open, I aspire to play in the Davis Cup for the sake of my own ego.

Retracing his steps on a Davis Cup that he has criticized so much, Alexander Zverev stated. In addition to being actively involved in the organization, both my brother and I helped to bring the Davis Cup to Hamburg, so this is an important goal for us.”

Despite the fact that it won’t be difficult, I’m looking forward to this new experience. Playing in Hamburg or training on the tennis court is clearly my preference, but that’s how things stand right now.

Everybody has a different way of dealing with things, and you have to follow your own path. For now, this is all I can do. Maybe next year, I’ll be even better,” said the world’s second-ranked player.
