Cerundolo closes dream week in Bastad with first career title

Now that Francisco Cerundolo has won the tournament, he can truly say that he is a champion on the ATP Tour! After losing the final in Buenos Aires the previous year, the 23-year-old Argentine finished a wonderful week in Bastad, Sweden, placing the cherry on top of the cake with an amazing performance to defeat his countrymen Sebastian Baez in the final.

In a match that lasted over two hours and with the first set as the unbalancing element, Cerundolo (ranked 39th) defeated Baez (ranked 34th) by scores of 7-6(4) and 6-2. In the opening set, there was a total of 18 break points shared between the two players, with one break for each team until Cerundolo emerged victorious in the tie-break. Using this momentum to his advantage, he completely controlled the second set and won the match.

Hello, I'm Antonio Zaccaro, tennis lover since I was 13. I started this blog out of pure passion, and now it has become my job. I constantly follow all the tournaments and I am always updated on all the news. What I know, I share with all my readers. My considerations are the result of hours and hours spent in front of screens and on tennis courts.
