‘It demonstrated Novak Djokovic’s ability to…’, says a leading tennis pundit.’

Novak Djokovic won the men’s singles title at Wimbledon. By winning his seventh title in London, the former world number one equaled Pete Sampras’ record, and was only one title away from Roger Federer’s record.

A season that was on the verge of bankruptcy was saved thanks to the Serbian champion’s fourth consecutive victory at Church Road. As a result of the well-known vaccine issue, he missed the Australian Open and did not advance past the quarter-finals at Roland Garros.

Nole has already won 21 Grand Slams, dethroning Roger Federer and narrowing the distance between him and Rafael Nadal. A last-minute alteration is not out of the question, but it is improbable that Djokovic will make the trip to the United States to compete in the US Open.

In recent days, a number of prominent American lawmakers have backed Novak. Mark Petchey returns to the Wimbledon final between Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios for the newest episode of the ‘AO Show’ podcast.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Mark Petchey discusses his thoughts on Novak Djokovic.

The match had everything we wanted, including a focused Nick Kyrgios, who came out of the blocks calm despite the fact that this was his first major final and obviously you have to remember this is the surface he feels like he has the best chance of winning a major on. With that comes a little pressure, because he’s not necessarily going to get that many shrugs.” -Mike Bryan.

He also lauded Novak Djokovic’s ability to come back from a set down and win the title at Wimbledon.”

While he’s lost a few finals after being up two sets to none against Stan Wawrinka, Novak has shown tremendous fortitude to fight back from a set down when others could have feared and he never once panicked, you know that’s not easy to do against that kind of relentless serving from Nick.

Even though I’ve seen Novak return better than anyone we’ve ever had, the fact that he didn’t freak out and wait for Nick to worry about whether his opportunity was going away, is once again a compliment to someone like Novak “Mark Petchey remarked so.
