João Sousa will no longer play doubles in Gstaad

When Joo Sousa was knocked out of the ATP 250 Gstaad in Switzerland in the first round of singles play, he decided not to continue playing in the competition.

The 33-year-old had planned to play partner Benoit Paire, but the Frenchman pulled out of the doubles competition hours after withdrawing from the singles competition when he was behind 6-2, 2-0 to Elias Ymer of Sweden.

Now a finalist, Sousa will play exclusively in the singles category in Kitzbuhel, Austria.

Francisco Cabral, a Portuguese doubles player, will compete with Tomislav Brkic of Bosnia on Wednesday in the first round of the Gstaad tournament.

Hello, I'm Antonio Zaccaro, tennis lover since I was 13. I started this blog out of pure passion, and now it has become my job. I constantly follow all the tournaments and I am always updated on all the news. What I know, I share with all my readers. My considerations are the result of hours and hours spent in front of screens and on tennis courts.
