Domingues is rematched in Finland and adds one of his best wins of 2022

World No. 313 Joao Domingues had a good time in Tampere on Tuesday. This day began with Oliveira de Azeméis’s 28-year-old tennis player already out of the tournament, having been knocked out the previous day (Monday) in the elimination round.

After losing in the qualifying round to Tunisian Moez Echergui, Joao Domingues played in the main event and won in straight sets, 6-3 and 7-5, over Bulgaria’s Dimitar Kuzmanov, the 171st ATP player and the seventh seed. His victory ranks among his best of 2022.

The Portuguese tennis player will face the Frenchman Harold Mayot in the second round. Mayot is ranked 395th on the ATP and came through the qualifying tournament, where he defeated the 138th-ranked wild card player, Finland’s Eero Vasa, 6-4.

Another Portuguese player, Frederico Silva, the 257th best in the world, is competing in the clay event in Finland on Tuesday against the 252nd best player in the world, the Croatian Duje Adjukovic.

Hello, I'm Antonio Zaccaro, tennis lover since I was 13. I started this blog out of pure passion, and now it has become my job. I constantly follow all the tournaments and I am always updated on all the news. What I know, I share with all my readers. My considerations are the result of hours and hours spent in front of screens and on tennis courts.
