“It was an honor”: Fissette ‘says goodbye’ to Osaka: partnership between the two ends

Thank you so much; I’m excited for the next step in your life and career and have always wished you the best “She wrote, including pictures of the project’s major achievements together.

Wim Fissette coached many tennis greats, including Noami Osaka, to Grand Slam titles. Other players he helped become champions include Kim Clijsters, Viktoria Azarenka, Simona Halep, and Angelique Kerbernel.

Osaka, who is not having an extraordinary time on or off the court, has won two of the four majors on her trophy cabinet in the two and a half years she has worked with the Belgian coach. These victories came at the 2020 U.S. Open and the 2018 Australian Open.

Osaka’s comeback in San Jose is on the verge of success thanks to a wild card entrant.

The wild card will allow the Japanese tennis player, who is dealing with an injury among other things, to play in the San Jose ‘500’ after two ‘1000’ commitments in North America.

The identity of the upcoming coach is still up in the air. Osaka hasn’t played much tennis since losing the Miami final to Iga Swiatek; in the two tournaments she has participated in since then, Madrid and Paris (obviously Roland Garros), she has lost two of the three matches she has played.

The four-time Slam winner doesn’t have a winning record in the majors since her match against Anas Potapova.
