Cabral shines heading to the semi-finals of the ATP Gstaad

Francisco Cabral, the top-ranked doubles player in his country and the 63rd-best player in the world, is having another fantastic week at the ATP 250 in Gstaad, Switzerland. On Friday, they advanced to the semifinals of the Swiss tournament alongside their doubles partner, the Bosnian Tomislav Brkic, 55th in the ATP rankings. Since the beginning of April, Cabral has reached the semi-finals of three ATP tournaments, all with different partners: Millennium Estoril Open (champion) with Nuno Borges, Geneva (semi-finals) with Joo Sousa, and Gstaad (for now semi-finals…) with Brkic.

After 1 hour and 20 minutes of play, Cabral and Brkic advanced to the finals by defeating Andre Goransson (92nd ATP) of Sweden and Ben McLachlan (54th ATP) of Japan 7-6(3) and 6-3. Cabral has won 10 Challenger titles in the past 13 months.

On Saturday’s “semi,” they’ll compete against Frenchman Fabrice Martin and Croatian Franko Skugor.

Hello, I'm Antonio Zaccaro, tennis lover since I was 13. I started this blog out of pure passion, and now it has become my job. I constantly follow all the tournaments and I am always updated on all the news. What I know, I share with all my readers. My considerations are the result of hours and hours spent in front of screens and on tennis courts.
