Nuno Borges ends with series of defeats and advances towards the ’round of 16′ in Spain

This past Tuesday, Nuno Borges ended a skid of four straight defeats by winning the Challenger of Segovia. He is the tournament’s top seed and, with a win, will take a decisive step toward his long-awaited debut inside the world’s top 100; if he wins the tournament, he could even break into the top 90.

May’s tennis player defeated Bosnia’s Mirza Basic, a former world top 75 player, 6-3, 6-3, with a solid, safe, and much more convincing performance than in either of his previous two tournaments.

When it came to the service game, Nuno Borges was clearly the more confident player, as he was broken not once but twice in the match’s most crucial moments.

Nuno Borges will face whoever emerges victorious from Alibek Kachmazov vs. Denis Istomin in the fight for the fourth and final quarterfinal spot in the Spanish tournament.

Hello, I'm Antonio Zaccaro, tennis lover since I was 13. I started this blog out of pure passion, and now it has become my job. I constantly follow all the tournaments and I am always updated on all the news. What I know, I share with all my readers. My considerations are the result of hours and hours spent in front of screens and on tennis courts.
