André Rodeia wins first ATP point and Jaime Faria also wins in Castelo Branco

The 20-year-old André Rodeia experienced a significant occasion on Tuesday in Castelo Branco when he won his first ATP point of his career in the ITF M15. In a match between two players on the American university circuit, Rodeia overcame Tiago Torres, also 20 years old, with scores of 4-6, 6-1, and 6-4. The young Portuguese player is now waiting for the outcome of the match between Diego Flores of Chile and Miguel Garcia of Spain.

Jaime Faria (1047th) advanced to the second round in Castelo Branco on Monday after defeating fellow countryman Illia Stoliar (1753rd and recovering from a complicated right shoulder injury) by scores of 6-2 and 6-3. Gonçalo Falco suffered a first-round defeat.

Tennis players Pedro Arajo, Martim Prata, Miguel Gomes, Francisco Rocha, Tiago Silva, Filipe Grebentsov, Rodrigo Beires, and Fábio Coelho will all be competing in Castelo Branco on this coming Wednesday.
