Meeting after meeting, Francisco Cabral, 25, continues to demonstrate what he did better in 2022: win, win, and win yet again. With a sixth straight victory alongside Bosnian Tomislav Brkic, with whom he won the ATP 250 Gstaad, in Switzerland, last week, the nation’s top doubles player, 49th ATP, qualified for the semi-finals of the ATP 250 Umag, in Croatia.
The combination remains unbeatable and this time defeated the Americans Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow, 6-4, 7-5, in just 1h 19 by playing flawlessly during crucial times, although playing in very different conditions (Gstaad had altitude, but Umag doesn’t). Cabral and Brkic utilized the only two break points they got while saving all the others. Better… unachievable.
The Grand Slam champions Fabio Fognini and Simone Bolelli and the Croatian combination of Antonio Sancic and Franko Skugor will face off against the Luso-Bosnian pair in the semi-finals.
