Marie Bouzkova and Anastasia Potapova compete for the title at the Prague Open.

In the 2022 Prague Open, Anastasia Potapova and Marie Bouzkova are the winners. The eighth seed from the Czech Republic and the seventh seed Potapova both advanced to their respective semi-finals on Saturday in the Czech capital.

Bouzkova defeated fellow Czech Linda Noskova, a 17-year-old wildcard recipient, in the first semi-final. It took Bouzkova an hour and 42 minutes to win 7-6(4), 6-3. Bouzkova prevailed in 58 percent of her second-serve points and 68% of her first-serve points.

In contrast, Noskova only won 41% of her second-serve points while winning 66% of her first-serve points. She was also let down by the four double faults Noskova committed. In terms of break points, Bouzkova managed to win three of them while losing her service twice during the course of the game.

Bouzkova had earlier defeated Oksana Selekhmetova in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-0. After Nao Hibino withdrew from their match with the teenager ahead 6-3, 4-2, Noskova had advanced.

An enjoyable week for Anastasia Potapova in Prague

In the meantime, Potapova defeated Qiang Wang 6-3, 6-0 in their semifinal match in exactly one hour.

Potapova hasn’t trailed in any of the four rounds of the competition so far. On Wang’s first serve, Potapova won 78 percent of the points she served and 55 percent of the points she received in return. Additionally, she defeated her opponent’s second serve in 65 percent of her points on return and 47 percent of her second-serve points.

Despite losing her serve once during the match, Potapova was able to maintain her lead thanks to five serve breaks. The 21-year-old defeated Anett Kontaveit, the world No. 2 and top seed at the tournament, in the Prague Open semifinals.
