Borges wins again in Liberec and is one win away from the top 100
Nuno Borges, the second-ranked player in his country and ranked 106th in the ATP rankings, moved a step closer on Wednesday to breaking into the top 100. The 25-year-old Madeira player defeated the 251st ATP-ranked Hungarian Fabian Marozsan by scores of 6-3 and 6-4 in a round of 16 match with little prior history. The match was completed in 1h17. Borges only had to deal with two break points before being successfully saved in both sets.
Nuno will compete against the victor of the contest between the Spanish Nicolas Alvarez and the German Cedrik Marcel Stebe in the “quarter,” the match that grants him access into the top 100.
