Tennis professional gives Nick Kyrgios high praise
Nick Kyrgios‘ serve has received high praise from Mark Petchey, who ranks it in the top five all-time. The 27-year-old Kyrgios is regarded as one of the top servers on the Tour, and his server was a key tool for the entire grass season.
Although Kyrgios didn’t win a championship this past grass season, he was unquestionably among the best players. Prior to playing in his first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon, Kyrgios advanced to back-to-back grass semifinals in Stuttgart and Halle.
Throughout the entire grass season, Kyrgios served at a very high standard, and his service was essential to his journey to the Wimbledon final. On Tennis Channel’s Inside-In, according to Sportskeeda, Petchey said, “In Isolation, it’s one of the best five serves of all time.”
“Okay, so how do you say that he hasn’t won a Major? The bottom line is that, taken alone, it’s one of the greatest serves ever.”
lauds Kyrgios‘ Washington run in Petchey
Kyrgios began his summer campaign on hard courts this past week.
Kyrgios made it to the Washington semifinal in his first competition after Wimbledon. We must all, in my opinion, acknowledge that there will be times when individuals will say, “That seemed wrong,” Petchey added.
“But given his current position, few few players have or would have played the caliber of tennis he has demonstrated on the court in Washington after returning from the Wimbledon final. He has maintained that drive, passion, desire, and concentration.
The level of tennis, disregarding the tweeners and everything else, and the overall style of play he has shown thus far in Washington are unbelievable.” At Wimbledon, Kyrgios shown his ability to compete at the Grand Slam level. Watching Kyrgios perform at the US Open, which begins on August 29, will be interesting.
