Serena Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, is among the best athletes in American sports history, according to tennis veteran John McEnroe of the United States. Williams announced on Tuesday that she would give from tennis after the US Open this year.
Williams is regarded by many as the best player the sport has ever seen. Williams, in McEnroe‘s opinion, is comparable to Tom Brady, LeBron James, and Michael Jordan.
Williams is unquestionably one of the greatest athletes in sports history, according to McEnroe.
“She should carry out her wishes.
She is a legend. After everything she has achieved and done, her status in American society has moved to a point where she deserves it “told USA Today, McEnroe. “I’m not sure if she needs to play again, but I also don’t know if she wants to.
She competes on the same level as Tom Brady, LeBron James, and Michael Jordan. She’s comparable to one of the best athletes of all time in the history of any sport, regardless of gender. It appears to be an excellent location in her life. She has significantly improved things.
She may spend the rest of her life saying, “Not bad, huh,” because everybody who saw the movie (King Richard) realizes where they came from and where they are now is unbelievable.” It was anticipated that Williams would give up tennis at the US Open.
The general consensus was that Williams was getting ready to retire from tennis at the US Open when she declared her intention to compete again at Wimbledon. Williams stated this week that she does intend to call it quits in front of her home crowd at the US Open.
Williams won the US Open in 1999, making her a Grand Slam victor. Williams has since won six more US Open singles championships.
