Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev enter the ATP 500 indoor-hard competition.

At the Astana Open in Nur-Sultan this year, Daniil Medvedev, Carlos Alcaraz, and Stefanos Tsitsipas have all committed to competing. The third tournament edition of the Astana Open, which had its debut in 2020, is scheduled.

The Astana Open will welcome some of the top players in the sport this year after not really having strong player fields in its first two years.

The Astana Open belonged to the ATP 250 club for the first two years. The competition has been raised to the ATP 500 level for this year. Because of this, the competition will have a stellar field of competitors.

This year marks the first time that Medvedev, Alcaraz, and Tsitsipas have competed in the Astana Open. The Astana Open will occur between October 3 and October 9.

In Nur-Sultan, Medvedev will be looking to make a comeback.

The current world number one, Medvedev, was unable to successfully defend his US Open crown.

After suffering a 7-6 (11) 3-6 6-3 6-2 loss against Nick Kyrgios on Sunday, Medvedev was forced to withdraw from the US Open. Medvedev acknowledged during the game that he had the impression he was facing up against one of the Big Three. It was a competitive match, according to Medvedev.

Kyrgios played similarly to Novak and Rafa. They all perform superbly. In my opinion, Nick played somewhat on their level today. He doesn’t play quite like a grinder, therefore he has a slightly distinct style. He can also retaliate at the same time.

He’s challenging to play. His serve is superb. But from baseline, it’s not like you immediately recognize your advantage as soon as the point begins. He performs well. He has a good chance.” On Monday, Medvedev will drop out of first place since he is expected to lose a significant amount of points.

In a few days, Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, and Casper Ruud all have a chance to surpass Medvedev for the top spot. It is still unclear how will respond to his failure at the US Open.
