Top coach: “You take Rafael Nadal knowing that…”

The 22-time Major champion Rafael Nadal thrilled his fans with a good tweet after not posting much lately on social media. Nadal thanked his supporters for their greetings and assured them that his entire family was doing well. Last week, Rafa and his wife Mery Perelló welcomed a kid into their family.

Nadal has returned to the practice field while taking in family time, practicing on his game, and eagerly anticipating participating in Paris and Turin. Despite all of the difficulties and injuries, Rafa has had a great year both personally and professionally.

In addition, Nadal surpassed Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer to claim the status of player with the most Major victories. Rafa had to start anew in 2022 after only participating in two games in the latter half of 2021 because he had no idea what to expect.

Nadal struggled with a left foot injury, but he overcame them and had a brilliant start to the new year. Rafa topped the chart with 22 Major victories after winning the first two Majors of the season, defeating Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer for the first time in his career.

Despite all the challenges, Nadal prevailed to win the Australian Open for the first time since 2009, setting a record with 21 Major victories. In the championship match against Daniil Medvedev, Rafa recovered a sizable deficit to win one of his most prized victories.

The Spaniard triumphed in Acapulco in February and was unbeaten up until the championship match in Indian Wells. Nadal was defeated by Taylor Fritz in straight sets despite having a broken rib. The King of Clay struggled in May after missing his favorite tournaments in Monte Carlo and Barcelona.

Rafa Nadal remains driven.

Toni Nadal, Rafael Nadal‘s uncle, recently shared how Rafael Nadal‘s nephew handled Carlos Alcaraz‘s ascent. Rafael, in my opinion, doesn’t give that even a passing thought. Rafael Nadal performs for him without considering the presence of Carlos Alcaraz, David Ferrer, or even Novak Djokovic.

You take him knowing that he is a tough opponent because my nephew plays and has the appearance of doing this or that,” he remarked. “I failed to notice them. He was playing against one of our players, so I saw the outcome. Casper Ruud, one of our players, lost set point and after that played a poor tie-break, Carlos played the set ball effectively. He left after that and vanished. As you can expect, Ruud was the cause of my concern.
