In the past five years, Stefanos Tsitsipas has advanced to his fourth Australian Open semifinal. In the quarterfinal, the Greek upset Jiri Lehecka 6-3, 7-6, 6-4 after performing better under pressure. After the game, Stefanos lauded Australia in a conversation with Jim Courier.

The Greek also invited Margot Robbie, his favorite actress, to Melbourne Park to watch games. Against the youthful Czech, Stefanos maintained focus and avoided all eight break points. Lehecka gave it her all to take on a higher-ranked foe, serving well and losing concentration only during the first and last service games.

In the second match, Jiri gave Stefanos five chances to break. After that, they remained tied until the eleventh game of the third set, when Tsitsipas broke once more to take the lead. In a match of exceptional caliber, neither player committed more winners than mistakes.

Tsitsipas’ second serve and improved play in the shortest possible range up to four strokes were the deciding factors that put him over the top.

Margot Robbie was welcomed to Melbourne Park by Stefanos Tsitsipas.

In the second game after a tie, Stefanos held and gained an early lead and boost by taking advantage of the fifth break opportunity.

In the ensuing games, Tsitsipas displayed strong serving, and in game nine, he scored a service point to win 6-3 in 36 minutes. After that initial setback, Lehecka bounced back and kept up with the rival’s speed. In the second set, the Czech lost just nine points after the opening shot and had a great chance to break the Greek and win a set.

In the fourth set, Tsitsipas faced five break points and successfully saved them to maintain his lead. Up until the end of the set, neither team lost a point after the opening stroke, and Stefanos held at 15 at 5-6 to start the tie break.

The third seed painted a forehand winner for 6-1 and five set points after opening a 4-0 lead with a smash winner. After an hour and 36 minutes, Tsitsipas slammed a forehand crosscourt winner at 6-2 to take the set and advance toward the finish line.

In the first six games of the third set, there were no opportunities for breaks. In game seven, Lehecka made one final drive after returning and built a 40-0 lead. With fast points, Stefanos held three break points and finished with a forehand winner for a 4-3 victory.

The first time under pressure since the contest’s second game, the Czech served to stay in the match at 4-5. After the opponent’s backhand error, Tsitsipas created a match point with a backhand crosscourt winner and converted it to win the match and move on to the semifinals.

“Australia really is such a wonderful nation. You know, I enjoy a lot of Australian culture. One of my favorite actors, Margot Robbie, is Australian. One day, it would be lovely to see her there in the spectators “said Stefanos Tsitsipas.
