Ons Jabeur acknowledges that she is already anxious about defending her Madrid Open crown, but she added that she will undoubtedly make Caja Magica smile. The 28-year-old Jabeur defeated Jessica Pegula in the 2022 Madrid final to win her maiden WTA 1000 championship.

The 2019 Madrid Open is being held from April 25 until May 7. Oh my, I’m already feeling stressed, but I’m going to tackle it one match at a time. I feel really honored to begin as the reigning champion. Jabeur said on the Madrid Open website, “I can’t wait to be there and play more tennis.

Jabeur, a Tunisian who last year advanced to two Grand Slam finals and peaked at No. 2 in the world, is one of the game’s most appealing athletes because he’s always grinning and making jokes. Jabeur maintained a fairly low profile despite rising to become one of the game’s best players.

“To me, that is everything. Being haughty won’t help me in any way. People come to see me and to cheer me on. I should at least smile for them. We must always keep in mind that we are all just people.

Always be kind, Jabeur advised.

In 2023, Jabeur aspires to win the Grand Slam.

Jabeur achieved the No. 2 spot in the world last year and won her first WTA 1000 championship. Jabeur’s current objectives are to achieve her maiden Grand Slam victory and become the world’s top player.

“I want to accomplish my objectives. Be number one, win a Grand Slam, but I realize that everything takes time. I have faith in myself and I think I can succeed. I am confident in my abilities. I will thus be prepared for whatever is necessary, Jabeur declared.
